Astra WordPress Theme: The Feedback Loop

2026 May 08: The ZipWP popup at the end of the AI site setup does not mention cost

When you finish the Starter Templates setup wizard, a popup appears asking you to create a ZipWP account. The heading says “Great Job! Your Site is Ready!” followed by three benefits and a big CTA button. What it doesn’t say anywhere: how much ZipWP costs, or that the first two sites are free.

For someone going through a setup wizard for the first time, an unexpected account creation screen — with no pricing context — reads as a trap. The natural reaction is to close it. Doubts lead to inaction, and Astra loses a potential ZipWP user entirely because they didn’t answer the one question the user had.

One line would have fixed it: “Free for up to 2 sites. No credit card required.” right under the headline. That’s it.

2026 May 08: The AI site builder keyword input doesn’t accept phrases

During the Astra AI builder setup, there’s a step asking for keywords to describe your business. If you copy keywords from a tool like Google Keyword Planner or Semrush — which typically exports comma-separated phrases — pasting them breaks each phrase into individual words. Multi-word phrases don’t survive the paste.

To enter phrases, you have to either type them manually or pick from Astra’s predefined keyword suggestions. Which defeats the purpose of bringing your own research.

The fix is straightforward: Allow comma-separated phrase input, or at minimum document clearly that only single keywords are accepted so users don’t waste time debugging a paste that looks like it worked but didn’t.
